Right atrial volume
RA volume measurements provide chamber-size context and can be compared with 2D area and linear axes.

Simple approach
Use indexed RA volume when available, then check whether the 2D area and linear dimensions tell the same story.
Detailed tutorial
RA volume is helpful when the chamber is asymmetric or when linear dimensions do not capture the degree of enlargement.
- 2D MOD volume is useful for routine reporting.
- 3D EDV and ESV are useful when acquisition quality is adequate.
- Indexed values help normalize for body size.
Discordant measurements should prompt a quick image review before finalizing the report.
